Other mountains in Tanzania are, Meru (4562m.) - Tanzania’s 2nd highest and Africa’s 4th, Ol Donyo Lengai (active volcano) Mt. Hanang (3417m), Longido (2629m), Usambara Mountains, Mt. Lemagrut, Mt. Lolmalasin, Mt Oldean, Uluguru Mountains, etc.
The following are the items that you will bring on your mountain climbing adventure;
- Mountaineering involves a lot of trekking, and so it is recommended that you bring good quality hiking boots and thick hiking socks.
- A smaller personal backpack and a larger backpack for your clothes, cold weather sleeping bags, safari style hat protecting face and neck from sun, headlamp style flashlight, camera of course, dried fruit and energy bars, sun block, malaria pills, water purification tablets, inflatable pillows and your regular clothes.
- A windproof and waterproof jacket and pants that are also breathable are also recommended, as are heavy gloves, heavy winter jacket, water bottles and gaiters.
